Since 2000, guiding ICSynergy as it has evolved idM, web access management and federation technologies, Martin has acquired a widespread reputation as a trusted thought leader and technology partner who can readily understand and address the business impacts associated with technology and deliver sound, reliable solutions. He has a core ability to blend a company’s legacy technology and emerging strategies and evolve them with innovative IT solutions that address both existing and ongoing business needs.

During his career, Martin Gee has designed and led over a dozen federation implementations. He holds unparalleled experience in all of the planning and operational aspects of federation, including experience with very large federation implementations (such as American Express, Texas Instruments, GMAC Financial, the U.S. DOD and the U.S. DOE). No other company and CTO hold as much large federation implementation experience as ICSynergy and Martin Gee. Martin possesses thought leadership and understanding in all aspects of idM and has hands-on experience creating solutions in all areas of idM technology. His expertise covers the full range of technology concerns for business federations, including secure portal architecture, directory services, access management, authentication strategies, provisioning, and compliance requirements.

Under Martin’s direction, ICSynergy has developed into an expert services provider across the entire Sun identity suite and Sun SOA suite. ICSynergy (ICS) is focused on Identity Management and has built proprietary enabling products and methodologies which allow the company to achieve up to an order of magnitude in savings around idM deployments. Recent customer successes include PepsiCo, GM, XEROX, American Express, Sabre and several Federal deployments. Martin has a 15 year track record for making technologies work at large companies. He created the J2EE architectures and strategies that led to Qwest and Level 3 Communications embracing the J2EE technologies that enabled their growth and adoption as the carriers of choice for other carriers and businesses. Martin was one of the pioneers in Internet technologies for business, having developed JAVA for web applications and encouraged companies to adopt web technologies back in the mid-1990s, when it was still an unusual approach. He has authored an in-depth training course on SAML 2.0 as well as the SAML 2.0 federation blue prints and has written a number of articles and granted interviews on SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language). His federation blue prints are designed to align the many different federation topology/architecture options with your unique business needs. His innovative open source extension of the smart card (CardSpace OpenSSO) was widely acknowledged and discussed in the technology press. A noted J2EE author, Martin wrote the book on the Sun iPlanet Application Server.
